We are seeking a Montessori Certified Infant Toddler Teacher to lead a group of 8 infants (3 months - 18 months) with two assistants.

MCC is licensed by NYOCFS and is a member school of AMS. CME|NY was the first Montessori teacher education school in the United States to offer Infant and Toddler Montessori training for certification. The Montessori Children's Center is where many of the routines, procedures, and practices for Montessori infant and toddler programs were developed. Founder Carole Wolfe Korngold was President of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and was honored with a Living Legacy award from AMS. As the leader of the room, Head/Lead Infant Teacher works closely with a team of assistants and develops trusting relationships with parents and families. The ability to create a positive and nurturing environment for children from 3 months to 18 months through the Montessori method can be deeply rewarding and satisfying. As a head/lead teacher, your responsibilities include:
1) Provide a safe, joyful, sanitary, aesthetically pleasing and developmentally appropriate learning environment following the Montessori method, all the while being the primary contact and model for the parents and classroom staff.
2) Follow the New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations.
3)  Encourage independence, freedom of movement and development of self-care, always modeling for the classroom staff how to do so.
4) Design consistent daily routines all the while maintaining accurate records i.e. daily sheets, anecdotals, medication logs, etc.
5) Ensure effective and accurate communication with parents and staff via in-person conversations, phone calls and email.
6) Collaborate with team to plan, reflect, delegate and problem solve.
7) Participate in staff development activities, educational trainings, mentorship program and weekly Head Teacher meetings.
8) Write monthly e-newsletter that reflects Montessori methods in the infant environment.
