School Sponsorship
Some schools sponsor Montessori teacher candidates in exchange for a commitment to teach during the internship year and a specified time as a teacher at their program. It is the responsibility of the Adult Learner to investigate this option with their sponsoring school.

Semester 2: January 2, 2019 - May 6, 2019
Scholarship funding to participate in the above courses may be available through the New York State Educational Incentive Program (EIP). For more information or to apply for a scholarship, please visit www.ecetp.pdp.albany.edu. You may also contact EIP by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by phone at (800) 295-9616.

Applicants may be eligible to receive up to $2,000 for these college level courses each year based on documented eligibility and continued availability of funds. EIP scholarships must be used for courses with a start date of 2018. For additional coursework which begins in 2019, a separate application will need to be submitted. The EIP application submission period for scholarships to be used for 2018 ends December 1, 2018.  For 2019 courses the application process begins December 2, 2018 and ends December 1, 2019.

The CME|NY Early Childhood and Infant and Toddler courses each qualify for two calendar years of scholarship funds with a separate application required for each calendar year (see above). When applying for EIP please include in the course title “Semester 1” in the first year and “Semester 2” in the second year application. You should also list half the tuition rate for each application.

CME|NY cannot guarantee EIP funding scholarships to our trainees. EIP is a voluntary program. Some applicants to our program may not qualify for an EIP scholarship and some applicants to our program may not receive a scholarship even if all qualifications are met. EIP Awards are non-transferable and must only be used for the course for which they were issued.

Candidates (or their responsible schools) must pay tuition in full to CME|NY.

Upon receipt of EIP payment from the state (at least 10 weeks following the date awarded), CME|NY will reimburse the candidate for the pre-paid scholarship funds. CME|NY will provide a certificate of completion with trainee's ASPIRE ID number, total hours completed, training start and end dates, NYOCFS regulatory topic areas covered, and our faculty trainer's ASPIRE ID number and signature along with a graded transcript.
Eligible candidates must be:
  • A U.S Citizen, Permanent Resident or Resident Alien authorized to work in the United States.
  • Be a paid employee, or the direct supervisor of a paid employee in a NYSOCFS or NYCDOHMH registered or licensed child care program,  caring for children, or the direct supervisor of employees who care for children, as part of the adult/child ratio requirement.
  • Be able to show proof of 6 months of continuous employment in child care.
